No matter how well a document is written or translated, it can always benefit from having a proofreader or editor check it for consistency and fluency. I don’t do a lot of proofreading as I prefer translation. I am happy to consider jobs in areas I am interested in – in other words, if it’s something I would like to read anyway! For proofreading or editing that doesn’t need to be checked against a translation I recommend using a member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders. As well as usually being fast and scrupulous, they can work with most different forms of English, not just British and American.
